OPPO F9 Pro Hands On & First Impressions

OPPO on 21st August Launched its new F-Series Smartphones in India, the OPPO F9 & the F9 Pro. We got our hands on the F9 Pro at the launch event and here’s what we thought about the device.

The OPPO F9 Pro has a refreshing design, on the front we have a 6.23-inch Full HD+ Display with a screen-to-body ration of 90.8 percent & has Corning Gorilla Glass Protection, it has a new Notch which OPPO  likes to Call the WaterDrop Notch. OPPO has used the gradient design on the back as well as side frame, making the sides and the back a naturally connected whole.

On the Placement Side, it has Volume Buttons, SIM Card Slot along with Micro SD Card Slot on the Left, the Power button is placed on the Right & on the Bottom, it has the Micro USB Port, Speaker Grill & the 3.5mm Audio Jack.

On the Back Side, we have a Dual Camera Setup which Includes a 16MP Primary Camera & a 2MP Camera with LED Flash & on the Front we have a 25MP Camera with OPPO’s AI Beauty 2.1. I took a few indoor shots in fairly inadequate lighting conditions & Pictures came Good. Unfortunately, I could not take outdoor shots in natural lighting conditions & I clicked some selfies with the 25MP Front Camera and observed that selfies come out a little too sharp AI beautification 2.1.  I would like to hold my final opinion about Oppo F9 Pro’s camera as I haven’t Spend much time with the Cameras.

Talking about the Hardware as well as the Software, the OPPO F9 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 SoC with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU for graphics & is equipped with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal storage which can further be expandable up to 256GB via a Micro SD Card.

On the Software Side of things, the OPPO F9 Pro runs the Company’s own Color OS 5.2 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo). It also comes with Google Lens support that helps users identify objects and show relevant information upon pointing the camera.

The OPPO F9 Pro packs a 3500mAh Battery with the support for company’s proprietary VOOC Flash charge fast charging that promises 2 hours of talk time with 5-minute charge. I expect the OPPO F9 Pro to have a better battery management & optimization with the processor.

The OPPO F9 Pro is priced at Rs. 23,990 &  will be available for order through Flipkart, Amazon.in and offline stores starting today and will go on sale from August 31st through online and offline stores in Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue, and Starry Purple colors.
